Inkana is an iPhone app for learning Japanese through writing practice. It includes kana, words, grammar, and sentence exercises.

Information We Collect

Inkana sends the following information only when you explicitly enable handwriting-data sharing in the app settings. We use it to improve handwriting-recognition quality.

We do not use handwriting data for advertising or tracking.

Information Stored on Your Device

The app stores learning progress, practiced content, quiz results, the last learning date, pen settings, and onboarding choices on your device to provide the learning experience.

Accounts and Sign-In

Sign in with Apple is optional. When you sign in, Inkana uses your Apple sign-in identity to create a session and stores your learning progress, selected settings, and subscription status on our server so you can restore them on another device. The app requests your name and email address from Apple, but uses only information Apple provides and only for this account function.

Signing out stops future sync on that device. To request deletion of server-stored account data, email [email protected] from the address associated with your request.

Advertising and Tracking

The current version does not use advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, or user tracking features.

Data Deletion

You can reset local learning history in the app settings. Deleting the app removes data stored on that device. Resetting or deleting local data does not automatically delete server-synced account data or submitted handwriting samples.

Handwriting samples are stored with a pseudonymous device identifier. To request deletion of submitted samples or server-synced account data, email [email protected] and include the details needed to identify your request.
